Minda
Minda Terms and Conditions
Version 1.9 · Effective 10 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the publisher of Minda ("we", "us") for the Minda browser and the services built into it. Review the Privacy summary beside these terms. You accept these terms when you select the unchecked agreement box in Minda Setup and choose Agree and continue, and when you continue to sign in to or create a Minda account. If you don't agree, cancel Setup or don't sign in.
1. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Minda on computers you own or control, for yourself or for your work. You may make the copies you need to install it, back it up and keep it up to date.
2. What you may not do
- Sell, rent or sublicense Minda, or present it as your own.
- Remove or change its copyright, licence or trademark notices.
- Reverse engineer or decompile it, except where the law or an open-source licence in section 3 allows it.
- Use Minda to break the law, to harm other people or their devices, or to get around the security of a website or service.
- Reach Minda's account, sync, sharing or AI services by anything other than Minda itself, or send them so many requests that they suffer.
3. Open-source software
Minda is built on open-source software, including Chromium and Electron. Each component is licensed under its own terms, which you can read in Settings → About → Open-source licenses and in LICENSES.chromium.html next to minda.exe. Where those licences give you rights, such as receiving or changing a component's source code, nothing in these terms limits them.
4. Your data and privacy
- Your local history, bookmarks, passwords, notes and settings are kept on this computer. Saved passwords and keys use Windows-protected encryption; saved chats, notes and some activity records are plain files protected by your Windows account. Signing in can also sync supported items, as described below.
- Websites you visit see what any browser shows them.
- In the background Minda downloads lists of harmful sites and ad filters. These downloads carry no addresses of the pages you visit. With secure DNS on, the DNS provider you choose sees the names of the sites you open.
- Some features send data when you use them. A cloud AI provider receives the question and relevant page text, files, pictures or connected data used for its request. While the voice assistant is on, its audio goes to OpenAI with your OpenAI key or, without one, to Minda's server and its speech-to-text vendor. Pictures, videos and read-aloud voices made with Minda AI go through Minda's server to the model's vendor. Translation sends text to Google. These services may see your IP address. Settings → AI → Privacy → "Keep AI on this computer" stops cloud AI requests, including voice assistant requests, but does not stop ordinary browsing or every non-AI connection.
- A Minda account is optional. If you sign in, the account service keeps what it needs, including your email address, plan and Minda AI credit use (the model, credits and time of each request, never its words), and the version of these terms in force when you signed up. Sync starts after sign-in unless you have turned it off for that account on this computer. Every plan syncs bookmarks, sidebar apps, workspaces, browser settings, supported history, saved passwords, notes, skills, highlights, saved chats and the list of page notifications. Items are encrypted before upload. By default Minda keeps the encryption key, so its service can read synced contents. You can choose your own passphrase in Settings → Account → Sync so the service cannot read their contents, or turn sync off. Item types, sizes and change times remain visible to the service. Team and community sharing makes shared content readable to its recipients and the service.
- When you report an AI answer (the flag under it), the question and answer go with your report to the Minda account service unless you untick them.
- We don't sell your data, and Minda shows no ads.
The bundled Privacy summary describes the main choices before installation. A feature-by-feature account of Minda's own traffic and controls is in Settings → About → What leaves this computer.
5. AI features
AI answers can be wrong, incomplete or out of date: check anything important before you rely on it. Review proposed page actions and their effects before approving them; authorized actions can submit data or change a page. When you use an AI provider, its terms and privacy policy may apply to the data you send it.
6. Websites, extensions and other services
Websites, Chrome extensions, AI providers, sign-in providers and payment processors are run by others. We don't control them and are not responsible for their content, their availability or how they handle your data; their own terms apply.
7. Plans and payments
Minda's Free plan costs nothing. Paid plans (such as Pro) and paid team seats are subscriptions paid through Stripe; we never see your card. The price, any free trial and what each plan includes are shown before you pay. A subscription renews each period until you cancel it in Settings → Account → Manage billing; after you cancel, your plan stays until the end of the period you paid for. A free trial cancelled before it ends is not charged. Minda AI credit packs are one-time purchases, not subscriptions. We give refunds where the law requires them and where we say so when you buy. Where the law gives you a right to cancel or to a refund, you keep it.
8. Updates and changes
We may update Minda to fix problems, improve security or change features. When these terms change, an interactive Setup shows the revised text and asks for a new, unchecked agreement. An automatic update does not record your acceptance of revised terms. Until you accept revised terms, your earlier accepted terms continue to govern your use of Minda, subject to applicable law.
9. No warranty
Minda is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be free of errors, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose, and we give no warranties beyond those the law requires.
10. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of Minda. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Minda in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Ending this agreement
You can stop using Minda and uninstall it at any time. Uninstalling keeps your local data unless you choose to delete it. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription or delete an online account or synced copies: manage billing and account deletion in Settings → Account before uninstalling. We may end your licence if you seriously break these terms, subject to applicable law and any notice or remedy the law requires. We may also suspend or end an account as section 15 says.
12. Installing for others
If you deploy Minda for other people, review these terms and provide them to the people who will use it. Use silent installation only if you have authority to accept the exact bundled terms for those people or your organisation. A first silent install requires an explicit acceptance of the bundled document; a routine silent update preserves the previous acceptance record.
13. Your content
You keep what you create, save and sync. To run the features you use, you give us permission to store, copy and process it for you, and to show it to the people you choose to share it with: your team, or everyone when you share a skill to the community. When you share something, you confirm that you have the right to and that it does not break these terms or anyone's rights. We may remove shared content that breaks these terms or the law.
14. AI-generated content
Text, pictures, videos and voices made with AI, yours or Minda AI's, come from third-party models. They can be wrong, offensive or close to existing work. You are responsible for how you use them, and where the law or a platform's rules require it you must say that something is AI-generated before you publish it. We claim no ownership of what you make with Minda AI; the model vendors' terms and the law decide what rights exist in it.
15. Acceptable use of the services
Do not use Minda's services (Minda AI, sync, teams, community sharing, the account) to make, store or share sexual content involving minors or content that harasses, threatens or defames a person; to make pictures, video or voices that imitate a real person in order to deceive; to break other people's rights, privacy or the law; to send spam or malware; or to attack or probe the services. Do not use Hide my IP (Tor and proxies) to hide illegal activity. You are responsible for the websites you automate. Scheduled tasks, scrape jobs, following profiles and the AI agent act with your sign-ins, and a website's own rules may forbid automated access: using Minda that way against a site is your choice and your risk. We may suspend or end an account, or remove content, that breaks this section, and we tell you why where the law lets us.
16. Age
Minda is not for children under 13, or under the age of consent for online services where you live if that is higher. You must be an adult where you live to buy a plan. If we learn that we hold a child's data without the permission of a parent or guardian where the law requires it, we delete it.
17. Complaints about content
To tell us that content on Minda's community pages, or shared by another user, infringes your rights or is illegal, write to the address on the Legal page with what the content is, where to find it, why it infringes or is unlawful, and how to reach you. We look at each complaint, remove content where we must or where it breaks these terms, and may end the accounts of people who infringe again and again. To dispute a removal, write to the same address.
18. Laws that apply to you
You must follow the laws that apply to your use of Minda, including export, sanctions and encryption rules where you are, and not use Minda where they forbid it.
19. Who we are
The publisher's name, address and contact details are on the Legal page of Minda's account service (the /legal page of its website), which also has the addresses for privacy and security matters.
20. General
These terms, together with any terms shown when you buy a plan, are the whole agreement between you and us about Minda. If a part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. The law of the country where you live applies, and nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under its consumer laws.
