Minda privacy summary

This summary describes the main data choices before you install Minda. The full feature-by-feature account is in Minda at Settings → About → What leaves this computer. Installing Minda does not create an account. Sync starts when you sign in, unless you have turned it off for that account on this computer.

On this computer

History, bookmarks, site data, notes, settings and saved chats are stored in your Windows profile. Saved passwords, keys and account secrets use Windows-protected encryption. Saved chats, notes and some activity records are plain files protected by your Windows account, not end-to-end encrypted files.

Background connections

Minda downloads harmful-site and ad-blocking lists. Those list downloads do not include the addresses of pages you visit. Websites you open receive normal browser requests. If you enable secure DNS, the DNS provider sees the names looked up. Privacy & security settings control these features.

AI and optional services

Cloud AI sends your question and the page text, files, pictures or connected data used for the request to the provider you choose. Voice assistant audio is sent to OpenAI with your OpenAI key, or without one, when you are signed in, to Minda's server and its speech-to-text provider, while the assistant is on. Pictures, videos and read-aloud voices made with Minda AI go through Minda's server to the model's vendor. Translation sends text to Google. A Telegram bot you connect answers people through Telegram with the instructions and notes you give it. Send feedback sends Minda's server only the report you preview, and only when you press Send or approve the AI's request: your words, the app version and system, and the site's name, a screenshot of the tab or your email only if you tick them; it is kept up to a year. These services can receive your IP address. Settings → AI → Privacy → Keep AI on this computer blocks cloud AI requests, including the voice assistant; it does not stop ordinary browsing or every non-AI connection.

Account, payments and sync

An account is optional. If you sign in, the Minda account service receives your email address, session data, plan and AI credit use, and records the version of the Terms in force when you sign up. While you are signed in, Minda also reports your agent's growth level (one number). Stripe processes paid subscriptions. Sync starts after sign-in, on every plan: bookmarks, sidebar apps, workspaces, settings, supported history, saved passwords, notes, skills, highlights, saved chats and the list of page notifications. Items are encrypted before upload, but Minda keeps the key by default and its service can read their contents.

Choose Use a passphrase in Settings → Account → Sync to keep synced contents unreadable to the service, or Turn off to stop syncing on this computer. The service still sees item types, sizes and change times. Team and community sharing is separate: shared content is readable by its recipients and the service, as are the rules and notices of automations you choose to run in the cloud. With Settings → Automations → Edit on the web on (off by default), the service also keeps a readable copy of this computer's own automations, their run log and the changes you queue for them on the account page, until you turn it off, remove that computer on the account page or delete the account (after 90 days unused it goes by itself). Account deletion and synced-data deletion are separate controls in Settings → Account.

Private windows and removal

Private windows do not save browsing history or AI chats, but downloads and bookmarks you choose to keep remain. Cloud requests you make there still reach their providers. Uninstalling Minda keeps local data by default. You can explicitly choose to delete the local profile during uninstall; this does not delete an online account or synced copies.
